Can Reiki treatments help with insomnia?
October 6, 2026
What is the one question every Reiki student should ask their teacher?
October 8, 2026Not weird at all. Working on yourself is beautiful, and Mikao Usui said you cannot heal others if you do not heal yourself. Stay with your own committed practice; you do not need to give treatments to anyone. The changes you make in yourself naturally affect the world around you.
That is not weird. It is beautiful to work on yourself. And you know what Mikao Usui said? You cannot heal others if you do not heal yourself.
So always come back to this space of shugyō, of practising the training yourself. That is the Japanese word for a committed practice. Do it. And if you enjoy that, just stay with it.
You do not need to do treatments on other people. The changes you make in yourself by working on yourself will naturally affect the world around you. Enjoy.
When this happens. When someone realises they have been happily doing self-practice every day and have no wish to set up a treatment room, and wonders if they have missed the point.
What to do. Keep the daily practice exactly as it is. If you want to share it, share it the way Usui’s students did: sit with someone, or simply be the person in the room who is not angry and not worried.
Ask your teacher this. “Is it all right if I never treat anyone?”
