Is it weird to give Reiki to your romantic partner?
October 19, 2026Radiance Series: Teresa Morris, RN on Weaving Conventional and Complementary Bedside Care with Reiki Women Podcast
In the Reiki Women Podcast’s Radiance Series: Reiki in Clinical Settings, Michaela and Carrie speak with Teresa Morris, RN, a recently retired registered nurse and certified case manager who has spent years exploring how the system of Reiki can support patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
Teresa shares how she first discovered Reiki after experiencing symbols during meditation, how she began incorporating Reiki quietly into routine nursing care, and how she later volunteered in a hospital program where patients could request Reiki sessions.
Together, they discuss the opportunities and challenges of bringing Reiki into hospitals and other clinical environments. Topics include staff education, cultural and religious resistance, volunteer-based programs, continuing education for nurses, and the importance of making Reiki more visible and accessible within healthcare.
Teresa highlights oncology, pediatrics, surgery preparation, mental health, and hospice as meaningful areas for Reiki support. She also explores the value of teaching caregivers the system of Reiki so that patients can experience greater continuity of care at home.
This episode also addresses consent, touch ethics, trauma-informed practice, professional boundaries, standardization, and the practical realities of introducing Reiki into medical settings.

About Teresa Morris, RN
Teresa Morris was born and educated in Liverpool, UK. She has lived in the USA for 45 years, first on the East Coast and now in Southern California. She is a recently retired Registered Nurse Certified Case Manager with 52 years of experience. She has also welcomed new life as a Midwife and supported individuals in their last moments as a Hospice Nurse.
Teresa began her healing journey with Healing Touch in 1995. This approach resonated with many nurses. At the Edgar Cayce Research and Enlightenment Center in Virginia Beach, she learned transformative techniques that deepened her understanding of holistic healing. She has practiced and taught Reiki since 2002.
Building on her extensive nursing experience alongside evidence-based care, Teresa discovered the profound benefits of Energy Medicine and its impact on health outcomes. She believes it enhances treatment without replacing it, while also supporting health emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
Teresa views Reiki as offering long-term balance, unlike quick-fix stress relief methods. Balance is the key to wellness. She shares her medical experience and insights with the goal of inspiring individuals to recognize and harness their innate healing abilities.
“Knowing Reiki is like having a healing kit at your fingertips.”
