Chanting Dai Kōmyō creates a specific state of mind by invoking the Great Bright Light, which represents enlightenment and one’s own true nature. Chanting Dai Kōmyō brings a deep connection to the essential nature of the universe.
How to Join in Chanting
To chant from the hara (腹 – belly), focus your attention on the area about two inches below your navel. Breathe deeply into your hara, allowing your abdomen to expand. As you exhale, chant “Dai Kōmyō” while maintaining awareness of your hara.
