June 18, 2026This is the first of several episodes exploring the theme: What Has Reiki Cost Us?
In this first-ever “Questions From a Hat” episode of the Reiki Women Podcast, we explore a side of Reiki practice that isn’t talked about enough: the sacrifices, challenges, fears, and identity shifts that can come with walking a spiritual path for many years.
Through surprise questions pulled from our very fashionable hats 👒✨ we discuss:
- ✨The mental and emotional intensity of Reiki practice
- ✨Spiritual work, ethics, and taboo topics in the Reiki world
- ✨Why saying “I’m a Reiki teacher” can still feel uncomfortable
- ✨Fear of judgment from others • Leaving conventional careers and questioning stability
- ✨Western vs Japanese Reiki misconceptions
- ✨The life paths we might have lived — and why we’d still choose Reiki again
This episode is honest, reflective, funny, and deeply human.

Just enjoyed your podcast about how Reiki changed your life and what you do it again.
I’m a nurse of 53 years. Now after not working in the hospital any longer, I call myself a holistic, Reiki and Yoga nurse.
I’m Reiki master since around 2015 and I live in Riegelsville Pennsylvania.
I have my own business seasons of life, Yoga and Reiki LLC. I’m not savvy enough to have a website, but I am on Facebook. lol.
I volunteer Reiki outreach is at my church and volunteer for the cancer support center locally. I also have clients come to the house or wherever they need me to go.
I’m definitely not earning a salary as many are trying to build a business that also supports them. I also teach all three levels of Reiki and also animal reiki.
I found Reiki in my early 60s when I was thinking about what I would do after active hospice nursing in the hospital and the field.
Reiki came back as the answer
I’m not sure why but I knew I needed to continue serving humanity.
Thank you for what you do, Bronwen
Blessings, Judy
I love that Judy, a Reiki and Yoga nurse!
