The midday card
Midday Pause
Week of 6 July
Kyō dake waFor today only
Stop for a moment. Let the breath settle all the way down into the hara.
Then sit with this:
What am I carrying from yesterday that I could set down, just for today?
Going deeper
Today’s contemplation
What am I carrying from yesterday that I could set down, just for today?
Feel where the weight actually lives in the body: the held breath, the tight shoulders, the clenched belly. For today only is not forgetting what happened; it is the daily, deliberate choice to meet this one day with open hands. The more you practise setting down, the more you find how much you were never required to carry.
You paused today at midday. You grounded yourself with an aware breath into the hara. You let a question turn over in you, and then you let it deepen. This is how we grow. And this is what working with the Reiki Precepts brings into your life.
That small daily refreshing of your thoughts is how the precepts stop being merely words and become the shape of how you live your life.
And there is a point where contemplation alone begins to ask for more: a stronger foundation for that daily practice to grow into and the inner cultivation that the Japanese tradition of the system of Reiki holds at its heart.
That is what Shinpiden+ is for. A step that those who have completed Reiki III can open into. It is the path of Usui Reiki Ryōhō, taught slowly and personally, so the daily pause you now keep grows roots.
If the midday pause and your regular Reiki practice have started to feel like home, then come and join me and the Shinpiden+ community for more growth, more wisdom and more Reiki love.
